Musical Love : Spain X Reader

A scream of frustration tore from the (h/c)ette's lips as she just about threw the acoustic guitar half across the room. Felix ducked as a book went flying in its stead and the (e/c) eyed female flopped face first into her bed, screeching obscenities into her pillow. The Polish man heaved a sigh and picked at his nails lazily, waiting for (y/n) to sit up again. When she didn't move from her spot, even though her pillow screaming had stopped, he uncrossed his legs and got up from the floor. He stepped over to (y/n) and placed a hand on her back.
"Like, I know you're totally upset about not being able to play the guitar, but that doesn't mean you can just throw it across the room like that," he said calmly. (Y/n) sat up and glared at him with her (e/c) eyes, her (h/l) (h/c) hair a bit messy from constantly running her hands through it. Felix sat next to her and looped an arm over her shoulders comfortingly, but she shrugged him off.
"I have been trying for at least three weeks to learn how to play this thing, but have I learned anything yet? No! I'm so tired of failing at even the simplest of things, and yet the harder I try, the worse I seem to get!" she cried and flopped backwards onto the plush masses of pillows and blankets on her bed yet again. Felix looked at her with his mouth pulled over to one side in a look of slight distaste and picked at his nails again.
"You know, you can always, like, hire a teacher to teach you how to play instead of frustrating yourself here," he commented nonchalantly. Though the Polish man couldn't see it, he knew that (y/n) was giving him another glare from where she lay.
"Do you really think I have the time or money to be working on something like that?" she asked, her voice low. "I still have my crappy job with hours that could kill someone and barely make anything! Do you really think I can do something like that? I barely have time to spend any time with you as it is!"
"Well, I happen to know somebody who can play the guitar really well, like nobody's business and who just so happens to owe me a huge favor," Felix said, leaning over towards the grumpy woman. (Y/n) sat up, looking at him with the anger and frustration still present in her eyes, but now with a hint of curiosity. She turned to fully face him and crossed her legs and folded her arms over her chest.
"Fine, I'll bite, who is this person who can play the guitar and supposedly owes you something?" (Y/n) demanded. Felix smiled and gave her a wink.
"That's for me to know, and you to find out on Thursday at six!" he said and hopped off of her bed, strolling out of the room casually. (Y/n) hopped out after him and followed, calling out to him in hopes of getting him to stop.
"Felix!! What do you mean by that?? Who are you setting me up with and how do I know they're not just some creep??" Felix decided against answering (y/n)'s questions, which only infuriated the woman even further. She demanded answers of him, even all the way to his small blue car, and still, he played the mystery card and refused to answer. By the time he had gotten in his car, (y/n) was at the door, preventing him from closing it so he could leave. He let out a huff and scribbled something on a sheet of paper, holding it out to her.
"Here, he already knows about it, so feel free to call him. You're going to meet him at his studio where he gives lessons, so like, there's the address. Now can you please move? I'm gonna be late for my hair appointment," Felix whined pitifully. (Y/n)'s jaw was tight, but she took the slip of paper anyways and stepped away from the car. Felix flashed her a smile and closed the door and called out a farewell out to her as he drove away. (Y/n) took a look at the slip of paper in her hand, and frowned.
"Antonio Fernandez Carriedo?" she wondered aloud. "Isn't that they guy who runs the dance studio in the midst of the city?" How on earth did Felix know that guy?? And how in the world did he get them to owe him a favor in the first place? He was so popular that he was practically famous in the city. The girls always said that he was a real cutie and a passionate dancer, amongst other things. (Y/n) herself had never really met the guy, much less visited the popular studio in person, though she had seen it every now and then on her way to work at the fast food restaurant not too far away.
(Y/n) shook her head and went back inside, tuning her guitar up before putting it back on its stand. She sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at the number and address again on the little piece of paper before she set it on the desk adjacent to her bed. She thought for a few moments more, and laughed to herself.
"There's no way that Felix knows the owner of Carriedo Studios, it must be his cousin or something," she muttered. She'd have to see it for herself to be able to believe it.

         ~Timeskip~

Thursday arrived sooner than you had expected, and before you knew it, you had hastily changed out of your work uniform and brought your guitar with you to the front door of Carriedo Studios, standing there nervously. You steeled your nerves and stepped inside the large building. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, though you could easily tell that it was mainly an dance studio. The wooden floors seemed freshly polished, the mirrors covering many of the walls were spotless and shiny, and the barres attached looked brand new. You felt unprofessional in your comfy jeans and favorite (f/c) sweater top as you wandered in, looking around.
"Hey! What are-a you doing in here?? Didn't-a you see the sign on the door? We're-a closed!" an angry and heavily accented voice shouted, making you jump and whirl around to see the source of the voice. There stood a man with tanned skin, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes that currently stared you down with an angry glare. You gulped and looked over at the clock, which read six exactly. This man, assumably an instructor, if not Antonio himself, was clearly none too pleased that you were here.
"Um, I'm here for guitar lessons with Antonio?" you asked timidly. The man scoffed and turned to a back door.
"Hey! Tomato jerk! There's-a someone who says they're-a here for guitar lessons with you!" he called into the back, where you could hear a few things crashing around, accompanied by a few words in Spanish before another man emerged. His skin was also tan, though tanner than the man who had first "greeted" you, his eyes a clear and vivid green, and his chocolate colored locks a bit of a mess. He grinned when he saw you and trotted over, sticking out his hand to shake.
"Hola! You must be (y/n), sí?" he asked while you shook his hand. You gave him a nod, and he gave you a bright smile.
"I'm Antonio! Felix told me that you would be coming! Come, let us go into the back so that we don't disturb Lovino, he likes to practice by himself," Antonio said with a laugh at Lovino's reddening face.
"You idiota! I do not!! I just prefer to perfect it on-a my own!!" Lovino snapped. "Just-a hurry up and-a leave already!"
You giggled at the man and let Antonio lead you to a back room where there were two chairs, a few music stands, and guitars here and there on stands. It was smaller, about a third of the size of the dancing room, and there were various things stacked about haphazardly. It appeared that this was more of a storage room than a music room. A few of the things seemed to be very close to tipping over, but none of them seemed to be near the area that was cleared. Antonio rushed around and adjusted a few things and then insisted you have a seat.
"Sorry, I was trying to get everything cleaned up before you got here and moved around," he apologized. "Please, feel free to go ahead and tune up, there's a tuner on one of the music stands!" You nodded at his words and took a seat, pulling out your guitar and tuning carefully. Antonio joined you shortly and tuned his own acoustic, a beautifully made guitar with a traditional design on slightly darker wood. He tuned up and turned to you with a smile.
"Alright! Let's get started, shall we?" he asked and you nodded, his smile proving to be contagious.
For the next hour and a half, Antonio had gone over all of the basics with you, mostly starting with strings and the simplest chords. You both agreed that Thursdays would be your scheduled lesson days and you departed, giving a farewell to Lovino on the way out, to which you only received a grunt. As you left, you took care to memorize the route home from Carriedo Studios and a smile graced your lips. Thank goodness Antonio was so kind and patient with you, otherwise you would have given up entirely on learning how to play the guitar. You looked forward to next week, and would definitely practice hard.

         ~Timeskip~

Several months had passed, and you looked forward to each Thursday to spend with Antonio and learn the guitar. They way he played the guitar was so masterful and beautiful that you couldn't help but be in awe of his skills. You also noticed that he showed up more and more in places where you frequented, and the both of you had gotten to know each other more, bit by bit. You never really wanted to stop taking lessons from him, but you knew that your skills had grown from all the practice and lessons, so Antonio would have no need to keep meeting you every Thursday.
You walked in on what you assumed was your last week of lessons, and went to the back room, passing Lovino once again as you cut through the dance room. He gave you a brief nod and you set up and waited for Antonio, recalling the words Felix had told you once you had let him know how you were feeling.

         ~Flashback~

"Like, oh my gosh! You totally like him!" he had shouted and started giggling like a schoolgirl in front of their crush. "You totally need to tell him that you like him!" You puffed out a sigh and looked at Felix seriously.
"Yeah, I do, but how do you expect me to do that?" (Y/n) had inquired of her Polish friend. He scoffed and tucked some of his blond hair behind his ear and folded his arms.
"Honey, he's a hot man who has dozens of girls fawning over him like a pile of kittens and puppies. Some of them already have their sights set upon him, so, like, you need to make a move or else someone will totally take him away from you! Let me help you out, I'll get you a totally smoking hot outfit and everything! Just let me handle it all so that you can just ask him when you go to him," he had said, then took you out to go shopping to get the said "hot outfit" he was going to make you wear.

         ~End of Flashback~

Much as you hated to admit it, you knew that Felix was right, there would be others to scoop up Antonio if you didn't catch him first. You fiddled with the end of the knee length, black, v-neck dress that Felix had picked out for you and delicately fingered the thin silver necklace around your throat. You worried that it was too much skin being shown and that Antonio would be disgusted by it. You didn't know his personal preferences on how women dressed, and you almost started stressing out when the door opened and Antonio walked in.
"Lo siento for being so late! I didn't expect that Lovino would need me for something like practice on one of the dan-" Antonio cut himself when he saw you standing in the center of the room, fiddling with your hair and necklace. Both of you froze and looked at each other up and down. Antonio was wearing what looked like a traditional dancing outfit, with a black, open shirt, some loose pants, and some shoes that looked formal. You hoped that he wouldn't mind your own outfit and awkwardly looked off to the side, your face warming up.
Antonio eventually shook himself out of his stupor and sat down in one chair, and you took your seat in the other. Both of you picked up your guitars, tuned, and started to play together. As you played the melody, Antonio added little flourishes on the harmony, making each note come together beautifully. You didn't want to stop playing, but all too soon the song came to a close, and you looked into Antonio's clear green eyes. He smiled broadly at you, but you could barely reciprocate the gesture.
"Well, mia hermosa, it seems as though you have mastered all that I can teach you!" Antonio said. He said it so cheerily that you for a moment wondered if he was glad that the lessons were over. You looked down into your lap, and your lip quivered slightly.
"(Y/n)? Is there something wrong?" he asked you gently, coming closer to you and laying a hand on your shoulder. You looked up at him and sighed softly.
"I really like you Antonio." Well that didn't come out the way you had planned it, but you had to keep going. "I don't want the lessons to end, and I want to keep meeting you because I really like you, and I want to spend more time with you."
Antonio looked a little shocked, but suddenly smiled wide and pulled you into a warm hug. You returned the gesture a bit hesitantly, but quickly hugged him tightly, as if he would slip away into nothing if you dared to let go. Some time was spent in this position before Antonio pulled away, still smiling, and a blush on his cheeks.
"I really like you too, (y/n), and I would be happy to spend more time with you! Would you like to start new lessons?" he offered. You tilted your head and asked what he meant by that. His grin broadened, if that were even possible.
"Dancing lessons! A boyfriend and girlfriend have to know how to dance together, sí? Let me teach you!" Antonio said and you blushed.
"Are you asking me to be your girlfriend Antonio?" you asked him.
"Of course! Only if you will accept, that is," he responded. You smiled at him and agreed wholeheartedly. Antonio helped you up, and took you out to the dancing room, where Lovino was nowhere to be seen, oddly enough. And so began your new lessons with your Spanish boyfriend.

         ~Elsewhere~

"Like, are they together already?" Felix asked Lovino impatiently over the phone. The Italian man glanced into the studio through the window to see both (y/n) and Antonio dancing a rather intimate dance, Antonio kissing her hair or cheeks every so often. He let out a snort and turned away from the scene.
"Yeah, he's-a got his hands all over here right-a now teaching her how to dance-a the tango. He's also got-a his lips all over her, so I'd-a say they're a couple now," Lovino said flatly.
"Good! Then my plan, like, totally worked! Thanks for your help Lovino!" Felix piped and Lovino rolled his eyes.
"Yeah yeah, I know. Just-a don't expect me to help-a them with anything else you ask," he grumbled and hung up. He took another quick glance at the pair inside and half smirked at how (y/n) kept stumbling into Antonio embarrassedly. "Heh, I suppose it's-a less of a dancing affection and-a more of a musical love."
